ACTING AND FILMMAKING Classes

At Spotlight, we offer both Acting and Filmmaking Classes for Agest 11-14. For information about our Acting classes, please read below. For information about our Filmmaking classes, please click here. If you have any questions about our classes, don’t hesitate to contact us!

ACTING CLASSES

Our acting classes are a great fit for all experience levels! Through scene study, we teach our actors tools so they are able to prepare very real, natural characters with genuine emotions. At Spotlight, instructors encourage students to make each audition and performance very uniquely theirs! Above all, we help young actors build confidence in the acting world and in life! Current Film & TV Sides are sent ahead of time so students are prepared to perform. Footage of classwork will be sent to download after class. Our class sizes are small and every actor gets a chance to perform!

FILMMAKING CLASSES

In our filmmaking classes, aspiring filmmakers will gain training in shooting, writing, directing and editing. Students will apply what they have learned first hand by producing their very own short film. After the class has ended, the short film will be available to download and share with friends and family.

Pre-Production

During the pre-production phase, students will write their very own scripts. They will learn the three act structure and how to develop characters. After writing their script, they will apply visual storytelling and story boarding.

Production

During the production phase, each student will receive hands-on camera training. Students will learn about different crew positions and have the opportunity to work each of the positions. In our filmmaking classes, students who show maturity with equipment have the opportunity to work with state of the art equipment.

Post-Production

In the post-production stage, students will edit their films with digital editing software. Students will be introduced to Photoshop as they work together to design their very own movie poster. We encourage our students to produce films of quality to be submitted to film festivals. Currently, our film Bottom of the Bottle (link below!) is in the circuit.
